We waited for the right puppy for nearly two years. In November of 2009 Joy came to us at 8 weeks old from Surefire Kennels. We are grateful to her breeder, Rhonda McMahan for letting us to have a first pick girl out of Justy and Strider’ litter. We named her Joy because this name perfectly reflects her outgoing and fun loving personality. Even as a little pup Joy had a stunning physical structure. She grew up into a breathtakingly beautiful young dog. At two years old she is 24” tall and weighs 70 lbs.  Joy has a very  balanced structure and correct proportions. She has a gorgeous head with alert and noble expression, perfectly set ears and medium dark eyes. Joy has a full dentition and correct scissors bite. Her coat is simply gorgeous! It is very full and smooth without any wavy strands of hair.  She is a perfect example of White Shepherd breed with an excellent breed type and easy going personality.

Joy has a vibrant character, very social and interested in everything that is around her.  She is probably the happiest dog I have ever owned. She is independent and readily makes decisions on her own. She is always watchful, attuned to her environment and very inquisitive. She is loyal, extremely intelligent and eager to please.  Joy has incredibly strong eye sight for a dog and can spot very small things at a far away distance. She is also a wonderful tracker and easily picks up scent and follows it. She has learned scent articles exercise in a very short time and rarely makes a mistake. Since she was a little pup we have noticed a very interesting characteristic in her nature - she could sense whenever we get sick and show us distinct signs of compassion that I personally have never seen in a dog.

Joy is doing very well in our training program and already made her mark in the obedience world by getting High In Trial at her very first trial at 11 months old. By 13 months old she completed her AKC CD title in three trials. Not even two years old she has already received two UKC Total Dog awards that are only given to dogs that qualify in a performance trial and win in a conformation show on the same day. Joy is demonstrating a remarkable consistency in her performance. Thus far she never failed me at  any competition trial. At just two years old Joy has been ranked  #15 within 50 top performing dogs in UKC Novice obedience in the country. We are extremely proud of soundness this dog has and her wonderful achievements that marked only the beginning of her performance and show career. We are looking with great anticipation to her future accomplishments!
